Your assignment must be ready to play by the beginning of class Monday 5/8/17. Stop motion Animation: "Stop motion animation (also called stop frame animation) is animation that is captured one frame at time, with physical objects that are moved between frames. When you play back the sequence of images rapidly, it creates the illusion of movement." (www.dragonframe.com/introduction-stop-motion-animation/) Objective: To design and create a 60 second or longer animated film with a short plot, a beginning, middle, and end. Students will use the program Serif Movie Plus x6 to create their stop motion animation. Requirements:

P2 Contemporary Photographer Inspired Objective: Find a contemporary artist who uses photography as their main mode of visual expression. Use them as inspiration and guidance for your mini work set which will be a set of four images you will take. These need to be your strongest final four images with the best contrast and compositional balance. For most of this year you have used the kit lens on the cameras provided by school. However, there are many more camera lenses to choose from. Looks up and define the following terms: Bokeh Depth of Field (in camera lingo) Telephoto Wide Angle Lens aberrations Prime Lens Crop Factor (added 3/28/17) Requirements: 1. Define the terms above, and get some visuals. Share them on your blog. 2. Compose an idea for 3 themed photograph using each lens to the best of it's capabilities. ----------Lenses you will use include: 1. 50 mm prime 2. 75-300mm telephoto 3. 24mm "pancake" prime 4. wide angle 10-18mm 3. Post your images on your blog and turn them into a folder under the assignment folder P1 4. In your blog reflect on which lens you loved the most and why. Then explain what you learned from hands on experience with each lens type. Due date 3/30/17 C4 Objective: Students will be creating a a digital artwork using a minimum of 3 art programs. Students will combine photography, digital media, and collage techniques to come up with an original work that is there own. Requirements: -8"x10" format -minimum of 3 art programs used -photography done by the artist used in work -original, creative -strong use of color theory and composition Blog Post: Post an image of your work. Describe the programs you used and what your artwork is about. C5 Objective: Explore, use and begin to understand the art program Artrage Lite Requirements: -Use analogous color theory to create make shaded forms in Artrage lite -Minimum of three forms (each form must be different) -Must use four levels of shading -Must have highlights -Light source must be consistent on objects. -Size TBA Blog Post: Post an image of your work. Discuss what you liked and did not like about art rage lite. Do you think this program is unique compared to the others programs you have used? Need five total photos that YOU compose and take of objects and other students as models. Each photograph will be graded on the following criteria.... Need to get lighting and shadows correct in your work. Works must follow the lighting that is present in the original work. (10pts each) Props, clothing, background should be similar but do not need to be exact. You can substitute objects that are similar in size and color to the original painting. (4 pts each) Get the color tone of the lighting to match the painting either through camera settings or photo editing. (5 pts each) Composition of your work should match the original painting. How you organize your work within the visual space should be the same as the original work (10pts each) Items should be saved correctly: Saved inside a folder with students last name first initial under the PC2 folder.Each individual file must be submitted in .psd format along with the original .jpeg file. Label each .psd image after the artwork you are trying to recreate (or if not .psd file because no photo edits were done, label the jpeg file instead) Layers should be preserved within the .psd files for review and grading purposes (1 pt each for correctly saving files) Each photo worth 30 points. 5 photos total = 150 points possible BLOG

Students continue the planning process for the art history recreation assignment. Work on the pallning stages that are discussed below. For students who finish the planning stage, and want to try and start today... I'd like for you to hold off on taking photographs while I am not there. Lately the studio has not been picked up properly. Instead, work on editing your blog site and personalizing your blog to be more uniquely attached to you by using your own artworks. Any time left can be used for studying. |
